His Majesty's Theatre

His Majesty's Theatre is one of Australia's most sophisticated and stylish venues. The Theatre has been entertaining audiences within the walls of its Edwardian splendour since 1904.

What to do

Access

The management of His Majesty's Theatre endeavours to accommodate patrons with disabilities whenever possible. However, due to production requirements of some events, these special facilities are sometimes limited. We therefore recommend that all patrons with special requirements state their needs at the time of booking tickets.

His Majesty's usual facilities include:

  • Wheelchair access to the auditorium
  • Wheelchair accessible toilet on the ground floor
  • Wheelchair access to Downstairs at the Maj and Museum of Performing Arts
  • A hearing induction loop throughout most of the auditorium

For further access information visit the Department of Culture and the Arts website.

Transport

His Majesty's Theatre is located on Hay Street, Perth (cnr King Street).  Buses run frequently along St Georges Terrace, parallel to Hay Street.  The free Central Area Transport (Red CAT) stops at 'His Majesty's' on Hay Street and operates every five minutes from 6:40am to 6:20pm Monday to Friday, and hourly on weekends between 8:30am and 5:00pm.  The Perth Central Railway Station is just a five-minute walk from the Theatre.
