Writer/Director Maryam Keshavarz's debut feature ventures into a part of modern Iran rarely witnessed by outsiders: a world where youths risk their futures as they experiment with sex, drugs and defiance. Teenage girls Atafeh and Shireen find freedom in the underground clubs of Tehran, where headscarves are discarded, party dresses are the norm and men and women dance together. But as the shadow of the Morality Police looms, their dreams of independence threaten everything they love.
