In his debut feature, award-winning short film director Gustavo Taretto balances wit, poignancy and insight into love and urban living. Though they cross paths almost every day, computer programmer Martin and window dresser Marianna are divided by both the isolation of modern life and a medianeras (dividing wall) that keeps their apartments out of sight from each other. With a distinct eye for composition, Tartetto constructs a tender portrait of love in bustling Buenos Aires.
Medianeras is also screening at Somerville 26 March–1 April.
The Buenos Aires-set love story is unique to the Argentine capital, yet universal in theme. As such, international auds will swoon for this Manhattan-like homage to the challenges of big-city connection. VARIETY
